People may consider conducting a gas price comparison after Danish-based insulation manufacturer Rockwool announced it would be partnering with British Gas to offer free services to its customers.
The two companies have previously worked together to improve the sustainability of several historic buildings, including Hampton Court Palace, the Tower of London's Queen's House and Kensington Palace's Orangery, to cut 850 tonnes worth of emissions.
Now, as part of the Community Energy Saving Programme, they are giving some homeowners certain products - including cavity and roll insulation - in order to cut their bills.
Jon Kimber, from the UK power supplier, said the equipment provides the "most cost-effective way" to reduce carbon emissions and household charges.
Furthermore, the move will make the process of providing customers with warmer properties faster and easier.
British Gas has asserted that having cavity wall insulation could save around £110 each year, while similar heat-saving measures installed in the loft could keep back £145.
