People across the United Kingdom have resorted to turning on their heating in a bid to deal with the cold, wet spells experienced this summer, according to a research carried out by nPower - one of the country's major green energy suppliers, through its Juice tariff.
It was found that around 50 per cent of UK homes had utilised some form of heating during the past month; for those aged over 55, this figure increased to 58 per cent. As a result of these findings nPower has urged people to ensure that they make sure their boilers and heating systems are operating in a safe and efficient manner.
Customer marketing manager at nPower, David Bond, stated: "The weather over the last couple of months has seen many people in the UK reaching for the heating controls and so it's important that heating systems are well maintained so they are ready to spring into action when needed."
