Homeowners whose boiler system is reliable might wish to carry out a gas price comparison when they learn npower has celebrated the first anniversary of its hometeam 50 plan.
From today (May 4th 2011), customers on the tariff will receive up to 50 per cent cash back on their annual bill if they have not called out the supplier's maintenance team to fix their appliance within the last 12 months.
Hometeam 50 manager Emily Stagg observed the company has seen a "significant uptake" of the offer in the last year, due to the fact that other firms do not currently provide such a service.
Included in the deal is an annual boiler check-up that does not affect any savings incurred by the customer, which could give them a system that saves money. Furthermore, each inspection comes with a year's guarantee.
However, if problems do occur, npower operates a 24-hour phone line that people will be able to call in the event of an emergency.
