Once again autumn has arrived, meaning that many people up and down the United Kingdom will be reaching to turn their heating on.
However, thousands are likely to carry the burden of increased heating usage and rising energy costs this winter.
Some though could be eligible for the Warm Home Discount Scheme. A scheme aimed at helping those most vulnerable groups in the UK cope with their electricity bills, it is funded by energy suppliers participating in it.
Although many people are aware of this scheme, they don't know what they need to do in order to get the £130 discount.
In most circumstances the government will send all those potentially eligible for the scheme a letter informing them so. This letter may also inform them that they need to call the Warm Home Discount helpline - in order to confirm whether they are entitled to it or not. Those that are eligible and don't make a call before March 13 (2013) won't receive the discount.
