Scottish Power has announced that it is offering a number of free insulation deals.
It has revealed that it will be offering loft and cavity wall insulation to anyone living in Britain; however, customers that don't live on the mainland won't be eligible to take advantage of the deal. Homeowners with existing loft insulation in place that measures over 60mm in thickness also won't be eligible to apply for the deal.
Those who wish to get either forms of insulation installed in their own homes don't have to be Scottish Power customers either.
The energy supplier - one of the UK's big six - has pointed out that good loft insulation could save homeowners up to £310 on their energy bills.
As well as providing benefits during the upcoming colder, winter months - by stopping heat from escaping from the home - insulation can also provide benefits during the summer too. Good loft insulation can also keep the heat out during spells of warmer weather.
Customers wanting to apply for the deal have until Sunday (September 30).
With winter fast approaching, Scottish Power has revealed that it is planning to implement schemes designed at helping its most vulnerable customers. It also stated, according to Which?, that it would not disconnect customers this winter - between November (2012) and February (2013).
Scottish Power is one of a number of suppliers partaking in the Warm Home Discount Scheme. Set up by the government and funded by energy suppliers, the Warm Home Discount Scheme has been designed to help vulnerable energy customers manage their electricity bills during the winter, by providing them with a £130 discount.
