The list from Tesco Travel Insurance advises families to organise airport transfers in advance for a better chance of negotiating costs and avoiding airport currency exchanges which can charge over the odds.
Other bargain tips include making use of many European countries' bike-friendly policies and eating food from local supermarkets rather than always eating at cafes and restaurants.
