"The Consumer Focus Confidence Code exists to make sure that consumers get the information they need from price comparison websites to make informed decisions about switching energy supplier," explains Audrey Gallacher, head of energy at the organisation.
News of the revamped code could be good for the 100,000 people in the UK who switch energy supplier every week.
A change might be vital for many Britons after npower became the latest of the country's big fuel providers to announce a rise in prices.
