Npower have launched a new tariff, Npower Go Fix 10. Go Fix 10 is a new online fixed product, designed to give Monthly Direct Debit payers security and peace of mind through fixed energy prices. It offers both dual and single fuel online customers fixed prices until 8th April 2013.

A new tariff has been launched by npower. Npower Sign Online 25 is a variable rate tariff offering prices that are guaranteed to be 2% lower on an annual basis when compared with Npower's higher offline prices until 8th April 2013. Users of this tariff must manage their bills online.

Co-operative Energy have announced a price drop for their Co-operative Energy Pioneer tariff. This makes Co-operative Energy the first energy supplier to lower its prices this winter. The new prices will come into effect for new and existing customers on 1st February 2012. UK Power are now displaying the updated prices to enable our users to more accurately forcast their next year's worth of energy bills.

Utility Warehouse have launched a new tariff, Utility Warehouse Fixed Price. This tariff offers fixed prices until the 31st of August 2014 for customers who take at least four eligible services from Utility Warehouse. For all other customers, the prices are fixed until the 31st of August 2013. Eligible services are: Home Phone; Broadband; BroadCall (Home Phone and Broadband bundle - counts as two services); Mobile (excluding ValuePay Pay as you Go); Gas; Electricity.

Sainsburys have announced a new partnership British Gas, combining the customer service expertise of both companies to provide a new approach to supporting customers' energy needs. Sainsburys Energy is launching two new tariffs, Sainsburys Energy Standard and Sainsburys Energy Online Energy. These tariffs are set at the same prices as British Gas Standard and British Gas Online Energy. Sainsburys Energy customers will be able to visit advice centers in Sainsburys stores accross the UK to recieve face-to-face service.

British Gas has launched a new tariff, British Gas Online Energy. This straightforward online tariff offers a discount of 4% on British Gas Standard prices until the 31st of January 2014, and is available to both single fuel and dual fuel customers. Customers are required to recieve their bills and manage their account online.

Scottish Power have launched a new tariff, Scottish Power Online Fixed Price Energy April 2013, offering fixed prices until the 31st of March 2013. This is a monthly direct debit, online only tariff.

British Gas have launched a new tariff, British Gas Price Promise April 2014. This tariff offers customers peace of mind for the next three winters, as prices are fixed until the 1st of April 2014. Only limited numbers of this product are available.

Scottish Power have launched a new tariff, Scottish Power Online Energy Saver 17. This monthly Direct Debit, dual fuel only tariff offers savings of 8.6% on Scottish Power's standard prices until the 31st of March 2013. It also comes with a dual fuel discount of £16.80 (per annum) and an online billing discount of £15.75 (per annum).

As announced back in September, EDF is raising its prices effective 10 November 2011. The new prices are already in the UK Power calculator for the benefit of our users. This price increase sees EDF become the last of the 'Big Six' to raise its prices. EDF's Standard electricity is rising by 4.5% and Standard gas is rising by 15.4%. This makes EDF's increases less than all the other major suppliers for both gas and electricity. EDF say they invest in low carbon nuclear generation, which has more stable costs than gas and coal generation. This is why their customers' energy prices are better protected. Four tariffs will be affected from today: EDF Energy Discount Plan v4, EDF Energy Discount Plan v5, EDF Green Energy tariff and EDF Standard tariff.

E.ON have launched a new tariff, E.ON SaveOnline 11. As with other E.ON SaveOnline tariffs, SaveOnline 11 offers a 6% discount for monthly direct debt payments and a further 2% discount when customers take both gas and electricity. The tariff is available to both dual fuel customers, and electricity customers who have no mains gas.

First Utility have launched a new tariff, First Utility iSave v9. This tariff replaces First Utility iSave v8 as First Utility's cheapest price tariff. The tarff offers fixed prices for 3 months and there is a dual fuel discount of 13% payable annually (capped at £80 for electricity and £100 for gas).

Green Energy UK today announced that their prices are changing. Green Energy UK offers green energy at prices that prices relect those regional electricity company.


27 October 2011

SSE have launched a new tariff for their Southern Electric, SSE, Swalec and Scottish Hydro brands, called Fixed Price Plan. Fixed Price Plan offers fixed prices for two years from the start of supply. Paperless billing is an option, with customers receiving an extra 1% discount on their unit rates if they choose it. Monthly direct debit will customers receive an additional 6% discount on their unit rates.

OVO have announced new prices for their OVO New Energy Fixed and OVO Green Energy Fixed tariffs. The average price of New Energy Fixed for a dual fuel customer has increased by 6.1%, conserably lower than their some of their competitors' recent price rises for standard tariffs. OVO's variable tariffs remain the same, but are not available to new customers.

First:Utility have launched a new tariff, First:Utility Smart as Standard v3 dual fuel. Customers on this tariff will recieve a dual fuel discount of £264 annually. Customers will also recieve a free smart meter meaning no more estimated bills. Online billing is standard, but paper billing is available at an extra cost of £1 per month.

Updated prices have also been announced for First:Utility Smart as Standard, and First:Utility iSave products. Customers on either First:Utility Smart Online or First:Utility Dual Fuel Online Saver tariffs will be moved onto First:Utility Smart as Standard in the comming weeks.

The UK Power website now lists the all the new tariff prices.

EDF have announced a price update for their EDF Online S@ver v8 Tariff. These prices will be coming into effect on the 10th of November 2011. The updated prices are now live on the UK Power switching service, so all new comparisons will take them into account.

Ecotricity have announced new prices for their Ecotricity New Energy and Ecotricity New Energy Plus tariffs.

Npower have launched a new dual fuel, variable rate tariff, npower Football Online. This tariff could bring you cheaper gas and electricity prices until the 3rd of March 2013 as well as a pair of tickets to watch your chosen npower Football League team play at their home ground. This is an online tariff, meaning you need to manage your account online. The only payment option available is direct debit, and this tariff is only available to new npower customers. Customers with no mains gas are eligable for this tariff.

Npower have launched a new tariff, npower Flex Saver Feb 2013. This tariff offers dual fuel customers capped energy prices at a 5% discount to npower's standard prices (as of the 17th of October 2011) until the 28th of February 2013. The tariff is only available to new npower customers through this website. It is also available to "no mains gas" electricity only customers. There is no standing charge with this tariff, so you pay for what you use.

E.ON Energy has launched a new tariff, E.ON Energy Fit Plan. This two year tariff offers customers a FREE month’s energy per year (in months 12 and 24). Other benefits include, no cancelation fees, Tesco ClubCard points, a discount for customers without mains gas, no IGT charges, and a Free Energy Monitor to customers who apply. Customers must manage their account online, and there is no Direct Debit, Dual Fuel or Online discount available on this plan. This tariff is available to dual fuel customers and electricity customers without mains gas.

Scottish Power have launched Scottish Power Online Fixed Price Energy January 2013. The new plan offers Fixed energy prices until the 31st of December 2012. The only available payment option with this tariff is Monthly Direct Debit, and customers must take dual fuel. This is an online tariff, meaning customers receive and view their bills, providing meter readings and carrying out general correspondence all online.

Scottish Power have announced the removal of their Scottish Power Platinum Fixed Energy January 2014 (v4) tariff, and the launch of a replacement tariff, Scottish Power Fixed Energy October 2013. The new plan offers Fixed energy prices until October 2013, and comes with Scottish Power's HomeComfort boiler care package, including an annual boiler service and safety check. The only available payment option with this tariff is Monthly Direct Debit, and customers must take dual fuel. Options are available for either paper bills or online paperless billing.

Scottish Power have launched a new tariff, Scottish Power Online Energy Saver 16. This monthly Direct Debit, dual fuel only tariff offers savings of 11.9% on Scottish Power's standard prices. It also comes with a dual fuel discount of £16.80 (per annum) and an online billing discount of £15.75 (per annum).

The co-operative Energy have raised their prices for their standard tariff, co-op Pioneer. The updated prices apply to both new and existing customers and take effect from the 4th of October 2011.

E.ON have launched a new tariff, E.ON Track and Save 11. This is replacing E.ON Track and Save 10, and offers bills that are guaranteed* to be cheaper than British Gas Standard bills until 31 January 2013. Online billing is available as an option.

Npower have launched two new tariffs, both with online bill management: Npower Go Fix 8 offers fixed prices until the 3rd of February 2013 and is discounted by at least 6% on npower’s higher standard charges (effective the 1st of October 2011). Npower Sign Online 24 is a variable rate tariff offering prices guaranteed to be 2% lower than Npower's higher offline prices.

British Gas have launched three new tariffs:

British Gas Websaver 13 replaces British Gas Websaver 12 and offers for a limited period only a guaranteed 6% discount off British Gas Standard tariff Tier 2 unit rates. This offer is only available online. The British Gas Energy Extra 50 repairs service is also available with this tariff as an option.

British Gas OnlineSaver 5 replaces British Gas OnlineSaver 4 and offers for a limited period only a guaranteed 4% discount off British Gas Standard tariff rates. Again, the British Gas Energy Extra 50 repairs service is available with this tariff as an option.

British Gas Online Fixed offers prices at a 7.8% discount off the British Gas Standard tariff Tier 2 unit rates for gas and electricity (as of 18th August 2011) throughout the period of the contract. Prices are also fixed until the 31st of December 2012, meaning they won't go up or down during that period.

E.ON have launched a new online tariff, E.On SaveOnline 10, which replaces E.On SaveOnline 9. As with other E.ON SaveOnline tariffs, E.On SaveOnline 10 offers a 6% discount for monthly direct debt payments and a further 2% discount if customers take both gas and electricity. The tariff is available to both dual fuel and electricity only customers.

EDF Energy Prices - EDF have today announced their price increases for gas and electricity. Standard electricity prices rise by 4.5% and standard gas prices rise by 15.4% effective on 10th November 2011. This makes EDF's increases less than all other major suppliers for both gas and electricity.

EDF Energy is the last of the major suppliers in the UK to announce price increases, to take affect from the 10th of November. Four tariffs will be affected from the 10th of November; Energy Discount Plan v4, Energy Discount Plan v5, Green Energy tariff and EDF's Standard tariff.

EDF invest in low carbon nuclear generation which is has more stable costs than gas and coal generation and EDF say this gives better protection to customers energy prices.

Scottish Power have launched Online Fixed Price Energy December 2012, providing prices guaranteed to remain the same until 30th November 2012. Prices are cheaper than the Scottish Power standard monthly Direct Debit prices in effect at 1st August 2011.

Utilita have announced new prices for their Energy Saver and GetSmart tariffs; these are effective from the 1st of September 2011.

Scottish Power have launched a new tariff; Fixed Saver April 2013. This tariff offers prices that are 4.3% cheaper than Scottish Power's standard monthly Direct Debit prices (effective 1st August 2011). Dual fuel customers will benefit from a discount of £16.80 per year, and those who choose to manage their bills online will benefit from an additional discount of £10.50 for electricity and £5.25 for gas. Prices for this tariff are fixed until the 31st of March 2013.

Scottish Power have introduced a £15 per fuel cash-back saving for their Online Fixed Saver December 2012 tariff. They have also reduced the cash-back they offer from £20 to £15 on certain tariffs, so that on all available tariffs Scottish Power now offer customers £15 cash-back. Payment of cash-back is sent by cheque within 4 to 6 weeks following receipt of confirmation from Scottish Power that the switch has been completed.

EDF are relaunching their Fixed S@ver V2 tariff as of the 26th of August. The tariff offers fixed energy bills until the 30th of September 2012. Monthly direct debit customers will benefit from a 6% direct debit discount. Duel fuel customers make an extra saving of £8.40.

Ecotricity, a UK supplier of electricity and gas from renewable sources, have announced updated energy prices for both their New Energy and New Energy Plus tariffs.

Following recent increases from the major suppliers, EBICo (the UK's only not-for-profit energy supplier) have announced an energy price increase of 19.4% for gas and an average of 12.2% for electricity. EBICo have guaranteed that their new EquiPower and EquiGas prices will be capped until March 2012, and stipulated that a sustaind fall in wholesale energy costs during this period would allow prices to be reduced.

The new prices do not come into effect until the 14th of September 2011. However, prices displayed on the UK Power website have been updated to reflect the increase.

Scottish Power have launched a new tariff, Online Fixed Saver December 2012, offering fixed prices that are 13.9% lower than their standard monthly direct debit prices (in effect at 1st August 2011). As an online billing dual fuel only tariff it also qualifies for a £15.75 saving for managing bills online and a £16 saving for taking both gas and electric together.

Subsequent to Npower's recent price increase, Npower have launched Winter Fix, a new tariff offering fixed prices for the next two winters. Prices will be fixed until the 31st of March 2013. New customers will receive a £20 Winter Fix bonus in their first year.

Following recent increases from the major suppliers, Utility Warehouse have announced new prices affecting customers on their High User, Medium User and Low User tariffs. The new tariffs take effect on 16th September 2011.

Npower have announced average price increases of 15.7% for gas and 7.2% for electricity for customers on standard unit rates. The new prices will come in to effect from Saturday 1st October 2011.

Npower say the increases are due to reduced quantities of North Sea gas so they are buying more energy on the global wholesale market. World events are pushing up these prices and distribution and network charges are also increasing. This is affecting all energy suppliers in the UK. Unfortunately, as a result, this means Npower have to increase prices.

Some prices do not change. Price Fix, Price Protector and Trio Tariffs are not affected. Also customers on Sign Online 22 and 23 tariffs are not affected by these price increases.

EDF Energy have launched a new tariff, Fix for 2012, offering fixed energy bills until the 31st of December 2012. The package is available for both dual fuel and electricity only customers, with a 6% monthly direct debit discount and an £8.40 dual fuel discount.

Fixed S@ver v2 has been withdrawn from sale. Customers who applied for Fixed S@ver v2 before the 15th of August may have peace of mind that their applications will not be affected. Online S@ver v12 has also been removed from sale.

Following recent increases from the major suppliers, Good Energy have announced a gas price increase of 9.4% affecting all Gas+ customers. Electricity prices remain unaffected. Good energy has stated that it intends to hold its electricity prices until 2012.

NPower have launched Go Fix 7, offering fixed energy prices until the 4th of December 2012, and a £100 discount after customers have been with NPower for a year.

E.ON have announced price increases of 18.1% for it's gas prices and 11.4% for it's electricity prices which go in to effect on 13th September 2011. Variable tariff prices will increase for E.ON Standard Energy Plan, E.ON Energy Online, and E.ON SaveOnline 3 to 8. A new tariff called E.ON SaveOnline 9 is launched today.

Age UK prices will also increase on 13th September 2011 with the following assurance "Guarantees no more price rises for Age UK Energy customers until at least 13th September 2012".

Fixed price tariffs are not affected by price increases. A new fixed price tariff called E.ON Fixed Price April 2013 is launched today. This is a two-year fixed price deal with no premium against standard new prices and no penalty clause for early exit. E.ON Fixed Price V5 and Age UK Fixed July 2013 are removed from sale.

Scottish Power have launched three new tariffs: Discounted Energy October 2013 offers 3% cheaper rates than their standard monthly Direct Debit prices until 30th October 2012. Platinum Fixed Energy January 2014 (v4) offers fixed prices until January 2014 with HomeComfort boiler breakdown coverage and an annual boiler service and safety check. The Simply Green Energy tariff comes with a guarantee that Scottish Power will match the amount of electricity customers use with an equivalent amount of energy generated from renewable wind sources. Customers will recieve a biannual copy of the Green Magazine, and Scottish Power will also contribute £16.80 to the Green Energy trust on the customer's behalf. Online billing options are available for all three tariffs.

Following SSE price updates announcement, SSE have launched two new tariffs: Price Fix 7 offering fixed prices for 3 years. Also launched: Fixed Discount January 2014 offering 2% cheaper rates than their standard monthly Direct Debit prices until January 2014.

SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy plc) has issued new prices today which will come in to effect on 14th September 2011. Their press release states: "SSE will increase prices for household electricity by 11% (average) and household gas by 18% on 14 September 2011. After that, it will not implement another household energy price increase before August 2012 at the earliest. SSE last increased electricity prices in August 2008 and gas prices in December 2010."

This price update effects the following brands - SSE, Southern Electricity, Scottish Hydro Electricity, Swalec, Atlantic Electricity and Gas, M&S Energy, Welsh Rugby, Energyplus Argos

Tariffs which are changing are - all standard tariffs, betterplan, energyplus, iplan, oplan, M&S Energy, Welsh Rugby, Go Direct, and Power 2.

Tariffs which will not change are - all the fixed price tariffs - Fixed price 3 to 6, Fixed price September 2011, M&S Energy Fixed price.

Scottish Power has launched Online Fixed Saver November 2012 offering 5% cheaper rates than their standard monthly Direct Debit prices effective 1st August 2011. The tariff also benefits from fixed prices until 31st October 2012.

LoCO2 Energy have launched 2 fixed rate green electricity only tariffs: Pocket Fixed providing 20% renewable electricity and Planet Fixed providing 100% renewable electricity. Both tariffs feature fixed rates for one year from the date of signing.

British Gas Price Update

British Gas has today announced a price increase on domestic gas and electricity bills from 18 August. Gas bills will rise by an average of 18% and electricity bills by an average of 16%, adding an extra £190 a year for an average dual fuel customer.

The reason for the increases are due to increases in wholesale gas and electricity costs, which have increased considerably in recent months. Global events such as unrest in the Middle East, the earthquake in Japan and the rapidly recovering Asian economies have driven up demand, and therefore costs.

As market conditions are changing rapidly, it is important that customers are comparing energy tariffs to make sure that they are on the cheapest deal. There are also still some fixed tariffs available for those who want to opt in for a capped rate over the coming winter.

E.On have launched Age UK Fixed Price July 2013. Prices are Fixed until 1 July 2013. No cancellation fees apply for early termination and payments can be made by Monthly Direct Debit or Quarterly Cash, Cheque, or Direct Debit.

Customers still considering a change should look at Fixed Tariffs in order to avoid further price increases up to the period of their Fixed Tariff rate.

Scottish Power have today launched two new Capped Price Tariffs.

Scottish Power Capped Price Energy January 2014 - If at any time after 1st August 2011 Scottish Power standard prices for your payment method increase or decrease, your prices may also increase or decrease by a similar amount but your prices will never increase above the capped prices.

Scottish Power Unifi Capped Price Energy January 2014 - If standard prices are higher than the capped prices for your payment method, your prices will remain capped. This tariff includes an in-home display, website and iphone app to control electricity use. One click of a button – make savings instantly by switching off up to six appliances (one uniplug in the box) that have been left on or on standby via the uniplugs by using the display, website or iPhone app. Conditions apply.

Npower have issued two new tariffs today:

Fixed Price 2013 starts on 4th July 2011 and prices are Fixed until 1st January 2013. Npower Price Fix 2013 is available for new and existing customers paying by monthly or quarterly variable Direct Debit.

Sign Online 23 also starts on 4th July 2011 offers a 2% Discount from Npower Standard tariffs until 6th November 2012. This product is only available online for dual fuel or single fuel customers and with paperless billing only.

E.ON have issued two tariffs to replace old versions of the same tariff.

E.ON SaveOnline 8 replaces E.ON SaveOnline 7 (with small regional tariff changes). This product is E.ON's first to feature Fixed Term capability (FTC) which means customers will remain on the same tariff for a fixed term of 12 months after their start date. Prices are Guaranteed to be at least 2% lower than E.ON's Standard prices for 12 months.

E.ON Track and Save 10 replaces E.ON Track and Save 9 (with no tariff changes). With this product bills are guaranteed*(caveat) to be cheaper than British Gas Standard bills until 1st October 2012.

Scottish Power removed two Capped Tariffs from sale. Capped Price Energy June 2013 and Unifi Capped November 2013 have both been taken off the list of tariffs available for sign up. Customers who have already applied are not affected and their applications will proceed.

EDF Energy have launched "EDF Energy - Energy Discount Plan Version 5". This provides Discounted Energy Bills until 31 December 2012, and Energy prices are guaranteed to be 2.5% cheaper than the EDF Standard tariff, whether Standard prices go up or down. At the end of the tariff, customers will be automatically placed on to EDF Standard tariff, and they will be notified and given the opportunity to sign-up to another tariff of their choice. This Tariff is based on 6% Direct Debit discount and £8.40 Dual Fuel discount.

EDF Energy EDP v5 Tariff replaces EDF Energy EDP v4 Tariff which is withdrawn today. Prices remain the same (i.e. they both "track" the Standard Tariff) but the guarantee period is extended from 30 June 2012 to 31 December 2012.

Npower has issued two new tariffs today - Npower Bill Saver - and Npower Football 45.

Npower Bill Saver prices are guaranteed to be 5% below npower’s standard variable tariff until 1st January 2013 for dual fuel customers paying by direct debit. Customers will also be eligible for a £100 annual discount when they’ve been with npower for a year and paid continuously by Monthly or quarterly Direct Debit.

Npower Football 45 is for the start of the 2011/12 npower Football League season. Every new dual fuel direct debit customer will get a £45 voucher to spend at any Football League club shop. Plus, when you’ve been on the tariff a year, you get a £45 discount and a £100 direct debit discount.

Ovo Energy Price increase - 9th June 2011.

Ovo Energy increased their variable tariff rates effective 9th June 2011. Fixed tariffs are not changed.

New variable tariff prices have been added to the UKPower.co.uk energy price comparison service.

ScottishPower has announced an increase to its domestic gas and electricity prices with effect from 1st August 2011. Annual gas bills increase by an average of 19%, annual electricity bills increase by an average of 10%. Standard prices have been updated on UKPower.co.uk.

Scottish Power has also launched Fixed Price Energy January 2015. This is the longest price guarantee product in the market as of now.

Scottish Power say the increases follow a prolonged rise in wholesale energy costs since November 2010 and continuing volatility in global energy markets.

British Gas have announced the launch of a new tariff called EnergyShare.

Energyshare is an innovative idea, supported by River Cottage that aims to fundamentally change the way people source, use and generate their energy. British Gas will match all of the electricity you use with British renewable energy. In addition, you get a choice of a free Energy Efficiency gadget from a selection of four. British Gas will also donate £10 every year to the energyshare fund and you can vote online to have your say on where the money goes.

This tariff is available to new or existing customers; available to electricity only customers or Dual fuel customers with gas standard tariff; and only available to credit meter customers paying by Direct Debit.

British Gas have launched WebSaver 12, replacing the previous WebSaver 11. WebSaver 12 provides a guaranteed discount period, with a minimum 6% discount against British Gas Tier 2 standard tariff prices until 30th September 2012.

E.ON have launched a new Go Green proposition. Go Green is a certified green energy tariff and uses CER's (Certified Emission Reductions) to offset 1 tonne of the customers's annual gas usage and 1.8 tonne's of the customers annual electricity usage.

E.ON have launched E.ON SaveOnline 7 with effect from 28th April 2011. E.ON SaveOnline 7 offers customers reassurance that prices will always be at least 6% cheaper than E.ON Energy plan prices until 1st July 2012. E.On Online 7 replaces E.On Online 6 which is withdrawn today. Customers who have already applied for E.On online 6 will still retain those prices.

EDF Fixed Price 2014. Prices are Fixed until 31st March 2014. This replaces Fixed Price 2013 and 2015 which are withdrawn today for new sign ups.

First:utility has announced tariff increases for existing customers from 1st April with the exception of those customers who are still within their initial three month fixed period. Customers who are on iSave V5, 6 and 7, and Smart as Standard V1 are not affected by this increase.

First:utility offers smart meters throughout the UK with their Smart as Standard V1 tariff which includes a smart meter and a Google Powermeter facility. Smart meters can reduce household bills by 5 – 10% (Energy Saving Trust.) As a Smart as Standard tariff customer you will receive a free smart meter that takes accurate readings of your electricity usage every half an hour and your gas daily.

Telecom Plus trading as The Utility Warehouse have published new energy tariffs for credit and prepayment meters in the London, Seeboard and Sweb regions that take effect as of 1st April 2011. These new tariffs have been updated on the UKPower Price Comparison Service.

Electricity prices increase by an average of 3.6% for General Domestic customers and 8.5% for Economy 7 customers. Low user gas prices are decreasing by an average of 5.2%.

EDF have just withdrawn their EDF Online S@ver v9 from sale.

The cheapest EDF dual fuel tariff as of today is their Fixed S@ver (until March 2012) tariff with rates guaranteed not to increase before at least 31 March 2012.

Npower have launched a new tariff called Npower Price Protector. Price Protector is a capped tariff so you know your prices will not rise until 31st July 2012 (but they may come down). Price Protector is only available to new customers taking both gas and electricity and paying by Direct Debit. Your energy prices will be capped at npower’s standard prices as at 07/03/11 until 31/07/12 when they will revert to prevailing standard (off-line) prices unless you switch again at that time.

When you pay for both fuels by Direct Debit continuously for 12 months you’ll receive £100 annual Direct Debit discount. With Price Protector your monthly Direct Debit payments for year one will be calculated to include the annual Direct Debit discount, on the assumption you will meet the conditions of the discount set out below.

OVO ENERGY today announced that it has changed its gas prices for new customers. Existing fixed and variable customers will not be effected.

Ovo says their Ovo Green Energy tariff provides all of its electricity from renewable sources and is one of the cheapest 100 per cent green energy tariffs in the market.

Scottish Power have issued Online Saver v 13. This is guaranteed to remain a minimum 2% cheaper than their standard monthly Direct Debit prices for gas and electricity until 30th April 2012. Online Energy Saver 13 product is only available as an Online option so you must manage your account online. You will benefit from receiving and viewing your bills, providing meter readings and carrying out general correspondence all online.

EDF have issued new tariffs which go in to effect on Wednesday 2nd March 2011. EDF is the last of the Big 6 Suppliers to increase it's prices.

Tariffs affected by this price rise are: Standard, Green, Online S@ver v6, and Energy Discount Plans v2, v3 and v4. All tariffs now have a daily standing charge. Standard Electricity tariffs have risen by 7.4% and standard gas by 6.5% or an overall dual fuel increase of 6.9%. Discounts are unaffected.

The new tariffs are on the UKPower comparison calculator which shows the future annual costs based on the new tariffs.

E.ON have launched a second new tariff today called E.ON Age UK Price Protection April 2013 and this is available to new customers. There is no cancellation fee with this product and prices are capped until 1st April 2013.

Prices are capped and not fixed. This means that prices will not go up during the capped price period and will reduce if E.ON reduce their Age UK Standard prices below the prices applicable at the time the customer signed up. There are discounts for Monthly Cash/Cheque, Fixed Monthly Direct Debit and dual fuel customers.

E.ON have launched a new tariff called E.ON Track and Save v8 with effect from Friday 21st January 2011. E.ON Track & Save 8 bills are guaranteed to be cheaper than British Gas Standard bills until 31st March 2012.

Scottish Power have launched a new tariff called Capped Price Energy June 2013. With this tariff, the price you pay for your energy units will not rise above the capped prices before 31st May 2013.

The capped prices quoted will be the maximum prices payable until 31st May 2013 even if standard prices increase. Also, if SP standard prices fall below the capped prices, your prices fall too. Customers who take both gas and electricity will receive one bill and benefit from our Gas & Electricity Offer discount. If you choose the online option of this product you manage your account online and receive an extra discount for doing so.

EDF have launched Fixed Price 2013 from Tuesday 18 January 2011. The Fixed Price 2013 tariff provides peace of mind of knowing the price of your energy, until at least the end of Sept 2013. E.ON have launched E.ON Price Protection April 2013 available to new customers. This product provides reassurance that prices won’t rise over the level signed up to with the added benefit that prices can fall should standard prices decrease. E.ON Price Protection April 2013 prices are capped until 1st April 2013. Prices are capped and not fixed. This means that prices will not go up during the capped price period. Prices will be decreased if standard prices decrease below the standard price level at the point of sale during the capped price period.

E.ON has today (TUESDAY) announced it will be increasing prices for the majority of its residential customers with effect from Friday 4th February 2011.

Standard prices will rise by 9% for electricity and 3% for gas. This will equate to 16p per day for the average dual fuel customer*. The move comes as a result of rising industry costs, in particular wholesale energy prices which have increased by 35% since last spring*. Customers on E.ON's social offering WarmAssist are protected from this change. (* Per E.ON)

Tariffs affected include E.ON Energy Plan (i.e. E.ON standard prices), Age UK tariffs, and previous SaveOnline, Energy Online, Energy Discount, Track and Save and Energy Guarantee tariffs. All tariff changes have been updated on the UKPower results pages.

E.ON have launched a new tariff called E.ON SaveOnline 5 with effect from 11th January 2011.

E.ON SaveOnline 5 offers customers reassurance that prices will always be at least 6% cheaper than E.ON Energy Plan prices (E.ON standard prices) until 1st April 2012. Available to dual fuel and single electricity customers. This tariff is for customers managing their accounts online and paying by monthly direct debit.

Ebico announced an increase in EquiGas prices with effect from 10th January 2011. The price of EquiPower remains unchanged.

Ebico have been trading for over 11 years, making a genuine difference to low-income households. They have one single price for all their customers, regardless of payment method; and no standing charge, so you only pay for what you use.

From 10th January 2011, the Atlantic Electric and Gas Annual Direct Debit Discount which is available after 1 year, is no longer included in the results calculations. This is because the discount does not become available until month 13.

This does not apply to Atlantic Fixed Price 3 tariff as this discount is received in month 12. The discount IS include in the results for this tariff.

Ovo Energy have issued new prices for existing customers already on the Variable Energy tariffs. These prices apply to EXISTING Ovo customers only. The Variable tariffs are not available to new customers.

From 10th January 2011, the First:Utility discounts to customers of between 10% to 15% if they stay for a year as a customer are no longer included in the cost calculations. This is because these discounts are given after the end of the year.

As from January 2011, the new Consumer Focus Code requires that discounts given after the end of the year are excluded from the cost calculations. In these cases there are notes in the tariff details describing discounts available after completion of one year.

British Gas have made available a limited offer on their Standard tariff of £100 extra credit at the end of 12 months for new customers who pay by monthly and quarterly direct debit, and £50 extra credit at the end of 12 months for new customers who pay on receipt of bills. These credits are not included in the cost results tables. They are extra savings on top of results shown and details are outlined on our results pages.

Sign Online 21 brings you cheap gas and electricity prices online and discount against standard [offline variable] until 31st March 2012. You‘ll need to manage your account online which means you can view your bills and send meter readings. Savings includes £100 dual fuel Direct Debit annual discount after you've been with npower for a year and paid by monthly Direct Debit. Sign online 21 is available to new and existing customers.
