Increased efficiency 'can lead to business energy savings'
Companies seeking a reduction in their business energy bills have been urged to slash their fuel consumption.
Josh Boulton, publisher at Green IT magazine, says rapid and significant savings are achievable for firms that go about reducing usage in the right way.
He notes data centres require an amount of power that is equivalent to 3,000 homes every day, making energy the "biggest single factor" when it comes to expenditure.
The expert also suggests it is the "logical place to start" when tackling fuel consumption, for both financial and environmental reasons.
Commenting on making cuts, Mr Boulton states: "It has a very quick impact and there's a genuine bottom line saving that can be achieved."
His words of advice could be taken on by a large number of companies, as a recent European Green IT Survey by Devoteam found the issue is a priority for some 90 per cent of businesses.
