Business energy debt reduced by British Gas
Angela Robinson, a Buckinghamshire restaurant owner, explained how the firm gave her an 18-month no-interest plan to pay off a £6,000 bill she had accrued. Furthermore, she was given a smart meter to help her establishment lower its costs.
The SAVE scheme is said to have cut the average amount of debt from £4,283 to £335.60. Its Expert Credit Solutions Team has suggested that private sector organisations should keep a regular check on their meter readings, in order to be given the most accurate bills.
Last week, Consumer Focus released figures showing that 1,848 complaints were made from firms that had been undercharged and were then given large amounts to pay back.
