Businesses can save thousands of pounds per employee by becoming more energy efficient in the workplace, according to an environmental body.
Green Your Office's sustainable services head, Dr Chris Moon, claimed that good estimates are also available for companies that want to know how much they could save in operational costs by having effective energy and waste policies.
He said: "The business could strategically decide to switch products and services to more environmentally-friendly alternatives, implement the environmental policy, buy green.
"Often the simplest and cheapest changes are the most meaningful. Switching to more environmentally-friendly paper can save you money - and this outcome can be just a click away."
Dr Moon's comments have come after another environmental body revealed that 75 per cent of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) feel green issues are important to their business.
Envirowise also pointed out that manufacturing companies could save as much as £1,000 per employee, while office-based businesses could reduce costs per worker by £250.
