Compare electricity online for best deals, says newspaper
Britons have been urged to log on to the internet and compare electricity prices online if they hope to enjoy the cheapest tariff.
The Daily Telegraph notes four of the six major energy companies in the country have announced price hikes, just as winter begins to set in.
It is worth recognising the fact that many providers will offer their most favourable deals on an online-only basis, so browsing the web really is essential.
The newspaper goes on to recommend signing up to a dual fuel provider, as this can save money compared with sourcing power from two companies.
"Providers tend to offer discounts to customers who take out both their gas and electricity deals and who sign up online and pay by Monthly Direct Debit," it states.
Earlier this week, the Met Office moved to warn people around the UK that temperatures are set to plummet and snow is forecast in some areas – all of which could lead people to use more energy in their homes.
