UK householders have reported a growing satisfaction with their energy suppliers, after a period that saw customer service improve and cheap gas and electricity bills become more widespread.
A study by JD Power and Associates found people are generally happier with the home energy package they are receiving.
Satisfaction levels rose to 620 out of 1,000 for electricity - an increase of 30 points on 2009 - while a 34-point surge was recorded in terms of appreciation of gas suppliers.
Gordon Shields, research director at the organisation, explains the adoption of technology has helped people in the bid to drive down power costs.
"The increasing existence of electricity monitors, in particular, has yielded benefits for both suppliers and customers. Through electricity monitors, customers have the ability to more closely manage their usage," he says.
Richard Eden, director at ukpower.co.uk, recently said the best way for people to ensure they are getting the right deal for them is to compare electricity and gas prices online.
