Firms 'require help with business energy consumption'
The government has been urged to continue to invest in and offer support to companies that are trying to reduce their business energy consumption.
James Murray, editor of BusinessGreen.com, said the national authority needs to do more to support the growth of green energy.
By adopting a more eco-friendly stance, firms may find they are able to lower the amount of power they use and, in the process, enjoy reduced business energy bills each month.
Commenting on the government's role, Mr Murray noted: "They are not doing nearly enough," adding: "They need to stop chopping and changing the policy, they need to set a clear policy and stick with it."
As well as potentially inflicting higher invoices on UK firms, the government will also miss out on the creation of thousands of jobs if it fails to maintain the green recovery, a recent report by the Trades Union Congress concluded.
