Recently, some people may have received unsolicited sales and marketing calls – also known as nuisance calls - promoting boiler cover using the name UKPower. Please note, this type of aggressive cold calling is not something that we agree with, or partake in. 

What are nuisance calls?

Nuisance calls include any unwanted or unsolicited telephone call. Common types of nuisance calls include prank calls, cold (telemarketing) calls, and silent calls.

How to stop nuisance calls?

If you are a recent victim of these types of call, we strongly recommend that you register yourself with the Telephone Preference Service and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office. The lodging of a complaint takes just 5 minutes and makes a real difference in helping regulators tackle these companies responsible for nuisance calls.

Is there any advice for customers who may have already fallen victim to the scam?

We would suggest contacting the Citizens Advice Bureauor the Action Fraud - the UK's National Fraud and Cyber Crime Reporting Centre who would be able to advise further action.
