There are potentially plenty of reasons to make a switch of energy supplier, headed by the chance to reduce the size of fuel bills, but another may be to enjoy a clearer billing system.
That could be important to millions of Britons, as new research by Ofgem reveals some 70 per cent of the population struggle to understand their invoices, reports the Daily Telegraph.
As a result of the confusion, many people are unaware of whether they are getting a good deal or not when it comes to paying dual fuel providers.
Some are not sure if they are on the best tariff they could be, while others believe they may be paying over the odds when it comes to their home energy bills, the newspaper notes.
One solution may be to use an online comparison site such as UK Power to assess various deals and make a switch of energy supplier to the best one.
Age UK Enterprises this week suggested over-55s are losing out on an extra £30 a month compared with last September after household bills rose.
