A new device which could slash thousands of pounds off businesses' gas and electricity bills is to be launched tomorrow.
York-based firm Tele-Products has won exclusive rights within Yorkshire and the Humber to market the Lighting Energy Controller, reports the York Press.
The device is a small box which senses the need to have full power to light up halogen or neon strips, but is able to control and limit the power used to as little as 215 volts.
It can be bought and installed for approximately £1,500 and Tele-Products claims that firms using then gadget will recoup this cost within 18 months due to a reduction in energy bills.
In particular it is thought retailers, car parks and car showrooms could benefit from the device.
Recent research conducted by gas and electricity provider npower highlighted that many businesses are interested in schemes which can help them reduce carbon emissions, with 43 per cent of those questioned saying they are actively looking to be more energy efficient.
