People in Scotland who are considering a switch of energy supplier could find their plans are perfectly supported by help from a special assistance group.
The Home Energy Hotline has extended its working hours in order to deal with the enquiries of concerned Britons in the midst of the current low temperatures.
Its team of experts are available to offer tips on how to reduce power consumption, keep houses warm and trigger a lowering of fuel bills.
"We want to ensure people are getting absolutely the best help and advice to keep their homes warm without paying a fortune," says housing and communities minister Alex Neil.
Another way to avoid hefty invoices is to make a switch of energy supplier, perhaps after viewing results on an electricity comparison site.
Home Heat Helpline last week said hundreds of thousands of people across the UK are not taking up offers to implement changes that would see a reduction in home power bills.
