Brits are now going out of their way to make their homes greener, but the best way to reduce household bills may still be to make a switch of energy supplier.
Alison Coleman, marketing manager at Magnet, says many people are actively seeking energy-efficiency improvements, particularly in the kitchen.
The expert notes particular worktops are now being made from recycled materials to cater for the green demand, while recent research by Ikea shows a large number of consumers would like a kitchen that offers eco-friendly features.
"Everyone is becoming more and more environmentally conscious and this is reflected in every purchase for the home," Ms Coleman confirms.
However, for those more concerned with the bottom line of their monthly invoice, a switch of energy supplier could be the most effective solution to rising costs.
The Ikea study also found healthy eating is to become a major priority for homeowners in the years to come.
