The hijack of a commercial passenger plane in Turkey has ended without bloodshed in Ankara.
Mehmet Goksin Gol, named as the hijacker by the state-run Anatolian news agency, handed himself over to the authorities in the Turkish capital this evening.
He had initially seized control of the Pegasus Airlines flight as it left the mainly Kurdish down of Diyarbakir in south-east Turkey.
The flight, with 178 people on board, had been due to land in Istanbul.
Amid reports that the hijacker wanted to redirect the plane to Iran, he is now being held by Turkish police.
