Wallace and Gromit promoting energy efficiency

Between 1 July 2019 and 31 December 2019, at least 10% of people who switched energy supplier for both gas & electricity with Uswitch saved £479 or more.

A new advert from npower aims to promote energy efficiency using well-loved film and TV stars Wallace and Gromit.

The latest in a line of adverts using the animated duo, the 30-second commercial sees an npower worker educating them about loft insulation after Wallace attempts to fill his space with sheep to insulate the home, with disastrous consequences.

Bob, the fictional npower worker, advised them that the firm can save them money on their energy bills by properly insulating their loft.

Kevin Peake, npower marketing director, said he was hoping the "positive approach to energy efficiency" shown by the duo will help consumers to see how such "small changes" can make "a big difference" to energy bills.

He added: "Although loft insulation may not be an obvious priority while the weather's warm, now is an ideal time to tick it off your to-do list as you'll be setting yourself up to save energy and money in the winter months."

Richard Eden, Director at www.ukpower.co.uk the online energy price comparison service agreed that energy savings can be achieved by through insulation and monitoring of all usage in a household. Using insulation, energy efficiencies and price checks, household energy bills may be reduced quite significantly.

RWE npower recently started producing clean, green power from its Rhyl Flats Offshore Wind Farm off the North Wales coast as the first of the site's 25 turbines started turning.
