Big Six energy supplier EDF Energy Launches Blue +Price Promise tariff

Between 1 July 2019 and 31 December 2019, at least 10% of people who switched energy supplier for both gas & electricity with Uswitch saved £479 or more.

EDF Energy has launched a new fixed-rate tariff for its customers.

The 'Big Six' energy firm has launched the Blue +Price Promise February 2015 offering customers a price freeze - based on a competitive rate.

It is estimated the average dual fill energy bill for most UK homeowners stands at £1,265. Customers on the Blue +Price Promise February 2015 tariff will pay £1,192 a year - if they pay their bill by Direct Debit.

Other benefits of signing up to the latest offering from the firm include a price promise and no termination fee for customers who decide they want to switch to another provider before the end of the tariff - some suppliers charge up to £100 in such instances.

EDF Energy managing director of energy sourcing and customer supply, Martin Lawrence, said: "Our Blue +Price Promise February 2015 tariff gives customers the peace of mind of knowing their prices are fixed at a highly competitive rate for the best part of two years – but with the flexibility to leave for free at any point if they find a cheaper deal.

"We'll even promise to tell customers if a rival brings out a tariff which saves them the equivalent of £1 a week or more at typical consumption.

"Blue +Price Promise puts the customer in the driving seat and delivers the simple, fair and transparent prices they have told us they want. There are no gimmicks or catches. We're delighted that it's proved such a hit with consumers."

EDF Energy is part of the Government's Green Deal initiative. As part of the scheme, customers can look at installing things such as an energy-efficient gas boiler, draft proofing or various forms of wall installation in their home to boost its energy efficiency at a subsidised rate - paying the firm the money back via their energy bill.
